are you or is anyone you know looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in the East Lansing/Okemos/Haslett area? i just got an offer to move into a new place and i have a lease on my current apartment that i need taken up by someone else (lease is until July 31st). it's right by the corner of Marsh & Haslett roads, so it's about a 10 minute drive from downtown EL, and equal distance from the Okemos/Meridian Mall area. $490 a month (or best offer, if necessary i'd be willing to throw in some cash every month until the end of the lease since it would still be cheaper than breaking said lease), all utilities except electric are included, really nice quiet area right next to Lake Lansing. there's a bus stop right outside the building. i love my apartment, but like i said, i got an offer elsewhere that i need to take advantage of soon before somebody else does.

so, i just puked up a bunch of phlegm (it was the only thing in my stomach and looked absolutely hideous), the glands in my throat are bigger than walnuts, and when the doctor walked into the office today when i was waiting for him, he gave me a very "yeesh" look and said, "my... you're looking a little green, arent you?"
i think it's safe to say i'm out of commission for a while. i'll be online on and off for the next couple days probaby, or call the cell to get ahold of me. |

i currently have an infection running rampant throughout my throat, sinuses, and eyes. unfortunately i didnt get a pic the day before yesterday when it was even worse (i was literally pulling strings of pus/mucous off of my eyeball), but my eyes have been crusting over in my sleep and this is what i wake up to: ( warning - large, gross picture behind the cut )

holy shit. ladies, i think this right here is the best $17 i've ever spent: MAC Liquidlast eyeliner. i put it on last night before going out, showered, and slept with it on and it literally looks exactly the same as when i first put it on. it hasnt budged at all, i dont even have to touch it up for work later today. it's a bit thicker than normal liquid liner and slightly easier to apply because it doesn't run all over the place, and it's more convenient than creme eyeliner. i just got black, but they have some really cool vibrant colors as well that probably stay on just as well as the black, so i'll probably pick those up as well. finally, i've found exactly the right thing for a heavy-duty eyeliner user such as myself... |

so my downstairs neighbors (the ones blasting death metal insanely loud a few weeks ago that i posted about) were playing some epic action movie hella loud just now. i got re-dressed and popped down there to ask them to turn it down, and the following conversation ensued:
me: (i knock, dude opens door after a moment) hey uh, i kinda gotta be up in about 6 hours and was wondering if--
dude: oh, is it too loud?
me: yeah..
dude: ... you want a beer?
me: haha no, i'm good, thanks though.

i started answering ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) yourtourniquet's questions in a comment, but thought that some of you guys might be curious about this stuff too so i decided to make it it's own entry.
i found Jim on iam.bmezine.com, which is a bmezine.com hosted service that's basically a myspace for modified people, haha (but less drama-prone and more community-oriented). i did a search for people that listed themselves as professional cutters, and he's one of the few that came up in my area (actually, in all of Michigan). right off the bat he was much friendlier than the other artist i talked to, and also had an online portfolio (which the other did not), which is why chose him. we discussed the idea online for a couple weeks previous to me going in and getting it.
as far as aftercare goes, i'm going the saran wrap route, which basically keeps the wound open, slowing down healing and promoting scarring. there are lots of "irritation" methods you can use, such as scrubbing it with everything from vaseline mixed with salt to ash to sugar to sand to just about anything, but i dont think even I have the stomach for that, so sarap wrap will have to do. i'm going to keep wrapping it for probably a couple weeks then let it dry out and go the picking method (which i think is pretty self explanatory).
i'm a sweaty, smelly beast under this saran wrap. the wound itself smells like over-ripe fruit when i unwrap it, haha. it's awful. it hurt to let water and air touch it the first night, but i can gently wash it with soap and water now (after washing it i let it air-dry for a few minutes and wrap it back up). i took my first successful shower today. it's tender to the touch, just slightly more painful than a fresh tattoo. at first i was wrapping my entire torso in saran wrap to keep it from all sliding off, but i went out and bought some proper medical tape today so hopefully i'll only have to use pieces of saran wrap securely taped over the cutting from now on. other than that, i can mostly bend and get around as normal, just a bit more slowly. :)
oh, and i hardly bled at all the first night, which i was surprised about, and havent really bled more than a few drops since then. i've also, strangely, been sleeping a lot better since getting it done. i wonder what my body's trying to tell me..? |

i spent every single song jumping, shimmying, headbanging, and otherwise causing a fuss. all my clothes were dripping, soaking wet with sweat*. my neck kills like no other, but i survived a fucking brutal crowd. it was incredibly cathartic.

I KISSED MOTHERFUCKING JIMMY URINE. after the encore, the crowd was dissipating and he was standing on stage with his back turned to the floor, hloding up a sign that said "KISSES 1$". at first i was like, "fuck it, even if i had any cash (which i did not) i wouldnt make it through the throng." i walked up to the crowd a little and noticed a few empty spots i could squeeze into. i ran back to the guys: HEY YOU GUYS GOT A DOLLAR I NEED A DOLLAR I'M GOING UP HEY MIKE GIVE ME A DOLLAR
i squeezed my ass up to the railing. when he passed by he snatched up the dollar i had clenched in my fist and put his hand on my shoulder. i put my hand on his waist and felt his completely sweat-soaked ribbed shirt under my fingers. he gave me a big grin and started shimmying his waist under my hand to the dance song booming over the loudspeaker. i gave him an equally big grin back, and after a moment he leaned in for a passionate kiss full of spit and tongue and teeth.
i know i probably have some gnarly bacteria floating around in my mouth right now. i dont even care.
i was reeling and shaking after that and had to sit for a while. we stopped by a gas station after that and i bought a gallon of ice-cold water and had to start chugging it before i even payed for it. while Adam, Mike, and Justin were paying for their stuff, i had to sit down on the floor of the convenience store and chug more water. a few concerned goth boys that were in line behind us stared at me and one said, "maybe you should get some orange juice," haha, aww.
oh, and there was this shrimpy little hardcore douchebag that i easily had 75 lbs on that kept on trying to start a pit right fucking next to me, slamming into me (i slammed the bitch back), and kept on flinging his stupid fucking sweaty bangs in my face. it totally fucked up my jive for a while.
all in all, an amazing fucking night that i will never forget. pics tomorrow.
*as a side note, on a whim i tried on a dress that i havent worn in 2-3 years (a black zip-up waitress dress). for the first time in years, i'm able to fit in it again. |
